The 45th Knope of the Week has been selected after a week long search for the individual(s) or group who has done the most to advance the mission of ELGL. In case you haven’t yet memorized the ELGL mission statement, here it is in its entirety,
THE MISSION of the Oregon Emerging Local Government Leaders Network is to enhance communication between emerging and experienced government professionals; provide for professional advancement in the field by identifying employment opportunities and through targeted training and education; and support the advancement of professional local government management.

Strategic Government Resources
Although we have a few days remaining in the ELGL membership drive, we can’t let another week pass without honoring our corporate/organization members with the Knope of the Week. Leslie Knope would be blushing if she knew of the outpouring of support from these companies and organizations.
True to ELGL ideals of bridging public and private sector our organization members represent a cross sector from cities, a regional government, banks, and law firms. Our corporate members will fund a lot of our “big ideas” that we are rolling out in the next several months. These ideas will increase collaboration across sectors, bring a better understanding of ways to work together in this day and age of the big, bad scary “fiscal cliff”, and entice talented individuals to either stay in or come to work in the government field whether it be a city or county or law firm working with governments.
Being a corporate/organization member will not stop after paying annual dues, we are committed to adding value to these organizations by highlighting their work in our communication tools, working with them on ways to strength ELGL, and offering their staff opportunities to become active members.
