PBOT Asset Manager
(Principal Management Analyst)

SALARY: $6,841.00 – $9,112.00 Monthly

The Asset Manager has overall responsibility for coordinating the Asset Management program within the Bureau of Transportation. This position reports to the Assistant Director for the Bureau of Transportation.  The Asset Manager has direct responsibility for developing and leading asset management practices across the Bureau, and applying asset management practices across the full asset life-cycle.

The Asset Manager is responsible for developing short- and long-term asset and systems plans leveraging an asset management framework to maximize opportunities and minimize risk based on methodical and intentional risk-analysis methods. This position is also responsible for coordinating GIS data and performing analysis, data management, and analytical support for all Transportation assets.

Social Media and Coordinator and Press Liaison

The Portland Bureau of Transportation seeks an experienced, social media and press savvy professional to coordinate the bureau’s social media efforts and facilitate relationships and partnerships with local print, television and on-line media to publicize the bureau’s programs and policies.

The Social Media Coordinator and Press Liaison would be a key member of the communications team that designs and implements the bureau’s strategy to engage, inform and educate PBOT’s many stakeholders. The employee would assist in building relationships with the media, planning and conducting information campaigns to highlight bureau activities and providing insight and guidance to groups across PBOT.

Utility Locator

SALARY: $24.76 – $26.64 Hourly

The Portland Bureau of Transportation (PBOT), Environmental Services Division, is recruiting for a Utility Locator in the bureau’s Maintenance Operations Group. The Utility Locator locates and marks publicly owned underground utilities such as water and sewer pipes of facilities in the areas of proposed excavations. Incumbent will utilize GIS and other tools to locate utilities. The incumbent may also meet onsite with contractors, inspectors and others, to determine the most effective method for locating and marking underground utilities in the area to be excavated.

The Utility Locator is also responsible for documenting, prioritizing and responding to utility locate requests, including emergency requests and taking part in a rotating 24-hour response schedule for emergency utility locates. Work involves frequent customer contact through telephone calls, requested site meets, and responses to citizen inquiries while completing field work. Work also involves the use of basic hand tools, the opening of vault, manhole and meter lids, setting up traffic control and working in close proximity to heavy traffic.
