Assistant Director of Economic Development

The Loudoun County (Virginia) Department of Economic Development is currently seeking a talented, highly qualified executive to serve as Assistant Director supporting economic development in one of the fastest growing counties in the nation. This position requires professional skills and abilities to assist the Executive Director in planning, directing, managing and overseeing the activities and operations of the department including commercial and rural business recruitment, retention and expansion, research, real estate and marketing activities.

Additional duties include, but are not limited to, participating in the development and management of the department budget, metric monitoring; internal and external reports; ensuring collaboration with community economic development partners; on-going development of policies and guideline documents and monitoring staff compliance thereof; assisting in managing the development and implementation of department goals, objectives, policies and priorities for each service area; leading the preparation of all Board and committee staff reports ensuring that all deadlines are met and that high quality product is delivered; monitoring compliance with county organization policies, reporting progress of major activities and other community or organizational items of interest to the Executive Director on an on-going basis; monitoring economic development trends, tracking relevant activities in Salesforce.com; providing performance direction, feedback, mentoring, coaching and training to senior level program managers and assisting with performance plans and assessments; managing all staff training; promoting a positive and productive work environment which creates a culture that values employees, teamwork and collaboration.



Deputy Director of Planning and Zoning

The Deputy Director of Planning and Zoning is a key leadership and management role in the department. The Deputy Director works closely with the Planning and Development Director, department management team, Board of Supervisors, and agency staff across multiple departments. The Deputy Director also represents the department with a diverse range of external partners in other public, private, and community based agencies.

This position will direct and supervise staff in developing, managing, and implementing programs, projects, and policies across a wide spectrum of subject matter areas including transportation planning and policy, land use planning and policy, transportation project development, transit oriented development, affordable housing, economic development and community engagement. This position also plays a leadership role in shaping the department’s legislative agenda and in developing long term funding strategies. Hiring Range: up to $156,000 DOQ



Senior Traffic Engineer

The Loudoun County, Leesburg, VA,  Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure is seeking a self-motivated Senior Traffic Engineer within the department’s Traffic Engineering Program. This critical position will be responsible for applying thorough knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures for roadway safety engineering and crash analysis to complete complex, unique and challenging projects.  The Sr. traffic Engineer will also be responsible for managing the internal and consultant resources engaged in projects, tasks and assignments related to roadway safety and operation problems in residential and business communities, and reviewing and analyzing traffic engineering studies and recommending solutions.

This position will offer a unique opportunity to develop design standards and specifications.  This position will work closely with elected officials and their aides, community leaders, County and VDOT staff at various position levels, citizens, and the development community.  The Sr. Traffic Engineer will also be required to attend and provide presentations at community meetings.



Medical Director

This position will provide clinical leadership to strategic, operational, and quality operations within center-based and community-based Medical Services. The successful candidate will have experience in leading physicians and advanced practice providers in a clinical setting. The ideal candidate will have specialty experience and/or specialty training in behavioral health and primary care, with a demonstrated ability to provide the highest quality professional service. The Medical Director is a member of Executive Leadership Team reporting to the Department Director and is responsible for program development and implementation. The Medical Director also represents the Department in local, regional, and state initiatives addressing mental health, substance use disorders and developmental disabilities.
