Introducing the ELGL Vendor & School Directory

Introducing the ELGL Vendor & School Directory

It’s here… the ELGL Vendor & School Directory! This is your new go-to resource whenever you need to find a recommended vendor, or want to compare and learn about graduate programs.

A listing in this directory is available to all of our All-In members. When they join, they can create a listing (and continually update it) about their service or program.

Then, our members have the chance to review and comment on the vendor or school. It’s a really easy way for you to search and learn about your fellow ELGL members who provide important services to local government.

If you don’t see a vendor you work with or a school you attended – tell them all about this directory! Here’s a sample email you can send to promote this free service for ELGL members:

ELGL has a new Vendor & School Directory to make it really easy for ELGL members to connect with each other to provide important local government services. To submit your directory listing, click here. Once you’re listed, I can provide a review and share my perspective on our work together.

Questions? Are we missing a category or sub-category? Send us an email!

Here’s a step by step guide on how to use this directory:

1

Vendors are arrayed by categories (including one for graduate schools). These categories are self-selected by the ELGL members completing their profile. You might find the same company listed across multiple categories depending on their choices. Click on a category to review all of the sub-categories.

2

You can also use the search feature(s) at the top of the page to look for a vendor or a school. The zip code search feature is also available (but many vendors may not complete this field, especially if they’re working in multiple states/regions).

3

Categories are arrayed into sub-categories. Again, vendors may pick multiple sub-categories based on their service offerings. So you’ll find the same vendor across multiple sub-categories, too. That makes searching the database quick and easy.

4

After clicking on a sub-category, listings are arrayed vertically, based on the most recent updates to the listing. (This is a good reminder for our vendors and schools to be continually updating your profile with your latest headlines, ELGL contributions, and news). The titles are clickable, so click through on the listings to read the full profiles!

5

If you see the stars, it means there’s a review on the listing! (Listings with no reviews have sad little clear stars, listings with reviews have yellow happy stars). Click on the stars to check out the reviews.

Each listing shows four tabs – overview, reviews, maps & directions, and contact/other. You can click on these tabs to learn more about the vendor or school, read any listed reviews, and contact the vendor or school for more information.

If there are review(s), you’ll see them listed chronologically, with the ELGL member who provided the review linked to it. Currently, we’re not accepting anonymous reviews – this is a way that we connect our members to each other, and provide helpful perspective to each other.  If there’s some huge reason why you can’t attach your name, let us know why and we’ll see what we can do to make the Vendor & School Directory work for you.
