Our New Year’s Resolution for 2018? We are committed to offering more opportunities for our 2,600 members to write for the ELGL website.

Here are three opportunities for you to contribute.

I Have to Ask You

ELGL co-founder Kent Wyatt will send you a choice of three local government topics to write about. You will choose one of the topics to write about. Articles should be between 300 to 1,000 words.

Call for Writers: Continuing #13Percent Conversation

Articles about the #13Percent are some of the most popular in the history of our website. Local government professionals want to share their experiences and read about the experiences of others. Knowing that, we’re re-energizing the #13Percent column and we want your help.

Call for Writers: On the Council Agenda

In this column, we want to know about your council agenda items, whether you were the lead staff or contributor.

Our goal is two-fold:

  1. Understand the issues impacting local government.
  2. Learn about the different approaches to presenting a council agenda item.

Guest columnists might include a link to the agenda item, a description of their role on the item, why/how the topic gained the attention of the elected body, and the action taken by the governing body. Posts should be between 500 and 1,000 words.
