The votes are in and the results have been tabulated: after a week of nominations and voting by our community, ELGL is thrilled to announce the winner of the Knope of the Week! As a reminder, The Knope of the Week honors individuals or groups who have done the most in the past week to advance the mission of ELGL.

Without further ado, the winner of the 23th Knope of the Week goes to the . . . .

Jessica Struyk

City of Gresham, City of Fairview, and Portland State University MPA

If ELGL had an all-star team, Jessica would be in the starting five. She has been committed to ensuring the success of ELGL by planning ELGL forums with Erik Kvarsten, Gresham city manager and Patrick Quinton, Portland Development Commission executive director. She has also helped with the daily operations of ELGL from sending job announcements to publicizing events. Jessica will continue to be a key figure in ELGL through her role on the ELGL Advisory Board.

While attending the Portland State Master of Public Administration program, she has been proactive in gaining local government experience through working with the cities of Fairview and Gresham. Her work ethic will certainly lead to a successful local government career and raise the bar for future PSU MPA students. Despite the busy schedule, you will never hear “I’m too busy” when asking her to help out.
