Tigard City Manager Marty Wine talks transitions, city developments

Tigard City Manager Marty Wine wasted no time jumping into her position at the helm of city affairs six months ago.

The 42-year-old Seattle-area native has helped steer Tigard through budget cuts, downtown revival plans and an upcoming mayoral vacancy.

Wine was picked unanimously by the City Council in October to replace Craig Prosser, who retired last summer.

She previously served as assistant chief administrative officer in Renton, Wash.

Now that Wine is settled in her job, she chatted with The Oregonian. Answers have been edited for brevity and clarity.
