In May of 2020, the National League of Cities asked their state league affiliates to support the #CitiesAreEssential advocacy campaign by calling for direct federal aid for all local governments.
As one of the country’s most severely impacted states, the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities was eager to do their part. CCM partnered with FLO Analytics to create a dashboard to keep residents informed and urge them to voice support for local government.
Leveraging the State’s Open Data Portal, FLO set up a live feed of town by town COVID-19 data that is easily shared and embedded on municipal websites. The dashboard helps users conveniently tweet at their Congressional Delegation and declare support for the #CitiesAreEssential campaign.
