Prepare for #ELGL14 by learning about who is attending. Find out if you’ll be surrounded by soft talkers, loud eaters, and finger biters or whether you’ll be surrounded by the best in local government.

(Complete the sentence) #ELGL14 is…….

..a great opportunity to mingle with like minded people and share ideas on how to improve local government.

Registration for #ELGL14 cost $60. If you could use that $60 to buy something else, what would you buy?

I’d probably buy a concert ticket or maybe a new pair of shoes.

If #ELGL14 spun off into a music festival, what bands (dead or alive) would you like to see?

There’d be so many but off the top of my head I’d have to say:images (1)

  • Manu Chao
  • Modest Mouse
  • The Pogues
  • Ratatat
  • Young Bob Dylan
  • The Rebirth Brass Band
  • Cream
  • Of Montreal

During your time in Portland for #ELGL14, how do you plan on “Keeping Portland Weird?”

When I am in Portland I usually like to go to the Happy Sparrow Cafe for the Portland version of a kolache, a Texas breakfast staple. Kolaches are usually made with fruit or stuffed with sausage and cheese, but the Portland version has salmon and lox, nutella and bacon, and of course a garden vegan version. This is weird for a Texan.

(Complete the sentence) I feel old when…

…my childhood toys and TV shows are referred to as classics.
