
ELGL is excited to welcome Matthew Bajor, Matt Horn, and Josie Peery to the Board of Directors.
The new board members bring valuable experience, knowledge, and passion for public service to help ELGL engage the brightest minds in local government. Matthew, Matt, and Josie each represent diverse backgrounds, with a shared commitment to innovation, transparency, and member engagement.
“Our new board cohort will play a key role in shaping ELGL’s vision, updating our strategic plan, supporting content and events, and connecting with the broader ELGL community,” said Meredith Reynolds, ELGL Board of Directors vice chair and incoming chair. “It’s clear they care deeply about ELGL’s mission, and I am looking forward to the ways they will help to grow ELGL, support our members, and celebrate local gov.”
The new board members’ terms start on July 1, 2025, and run through June 30, 2028.
Matthew Bajor (LinkedIn) is the assistant to the village manager for the Village of Algonquin, IL. With a record of membership in ELGL and other professional organizations, he brings a passion for data-driven decision-making and a strong background in budgeting and performance management to the board. In 2024, Matthew was recognized by ELGL as a Top Influencer in Local Government.
“I’m looking forward to supporting ELGL’s strategic priorities by championing creative problem-solving, creating space for members to share new ideas, and contributing to professional development efforts,” he said. “ELGL’s commitment to adaptability and creativity really resonates with me, and I’m excited to help advance those values across the public sector.”
Matt Horn (LinkedIn) is the director of strategic growth and development at MRB Group, a provider of engineering, architecture, and planning services to municipal governments nationwide. Matt is a longtime ELGL member, contributor to the Morning Buzz blog, and a past guest on ELGL’s GovLove Podcast. In 2016, 2017, and 2024, Matt was named by ELGL as a Top Influencer in Local Government
“From my very first interaction with ELGL, it has served me as a key resource in professional development, and connectivity with peers in the field,” he said. “I am excited to contribute to ELGL’s future success and want to ensure that ELGL can continue to connect and celebrate local government professionals.”
Josie Peery (LinkedIn) is an account executive at SDL, a leading provider of technology solutions for local governments. As a member of ELGL, Josie’s volunteer service to the organization started on the planning committee for the 2022 conference in Phoenix and continued as a member of the Events Committee, where she is integral in organizing Camp Govlife, ELGL’s upcoming 2025 conference in Santa Rosa, CA. In 2025, Josie was honored by ELGL as a Top Influencer in Local Government.
“For the past four years, ELGL has been a place for me to meet friends, connect with like-minded individuals, and share joy in public service,” she said. “The mission of amplifying good in local government is what I strive to do every single day.”
