ELGL is postponing our annual conference
to October 14-16, 2020.
Due to the intensifying public health emergency caused by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), ELGL has made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone our annual conference, #ELGL20, and reschedule it to October 14-16, 2020.
The safety of ELGL members is our top concern, and we know there’s a lot of uncertainty right now about the future of travel and large gatherings.
Our plan is to shift all plans from May to October, so the conference experience we’ve curated will be available to our members this fall.
We have worked with our event venue and the conference hotel to make this change. If you’ve already registered for the May conference and if your calendar can accommodate the date change to October, you do not need to do anything – we’ll transfer your ticket registration for you.
If you’ve been hesitant to register or if the May date didn’t work for your calendar but the October date does – you can register now at ELGL20.com.
If you’ve purchased a ticket but now cannot make the new date, we’ll be sad – but we’ll understand. This is a big schedule change and we know you’re busy and have a lot of commitments.
To process your refund, you can follow these instructions from the ticketing website. If you need to reach us directly, please email emily@elgl.org or kirsten@elgl.org, but please be patient as we respond to an unusual volume of requests.
Refund requests will be accepted through August 1 so our members have plenty of time to plan ahead for the event. Ticket prices will remain the same and we’ll modify the pricing increase structure to reflect the postponement of the event.
We will send registered attendees and speakers information on adjusting your hotel reservation shortly (just to ensure that your reservation still makes sense with your travel plans – the room block and reduced hotel rates are still in effect for the October dates). This information will also be posted soon on ELGL20.com.
We encourage you to check with your airline regarding changing or canceling your flights, as most airlines are making allowances for that at this time.
All of the other goodness planned for #ELGL20 will remain in effect – the agenda, the Summits, the connector events, and the experiential learning opportunities.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll have a big lift to make these adjustments but we’re committed to producing the best local government conference in the world and for now, that means moving the event to October.
