Reclaiming Government for America’s Future

March 13, 20174:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Metro, 600 NE Grand Avenue, Portland, Oregon

Whether it is a tax debate, an effort to strengthen environmental regulations, or an attempt to improve public systems and structures, the role and scope of the “public” in our everyday lives is in question. The Topos Partnership will be presenting on the recent national and Oregon-based research about how people think about government and about ways to engage people in more constructive conversations about our public systems and structures.

Topos’ recent work is called Reclaiming Government for America’s Future. The findings and recommendations aim to help people recognize, for better or worse, government plays an essential role in our society and that we help ourselves not by dismissing it or tearing it down, but by engaging with it and making it better. A no-host social will follow the event at Spirit of 77. Please RSVP for the event to ed.campos@oregonmetro.gov.
