This year, we’ve learned from ELGL’s Creative Placemaking series that introducing arts and culture into local government operations is more than painting a mural – it’s a true infusion of creativity into all aspects of local government work.

Creative placemaking fosters resilient communities, provides unique engagement opportunities, and creates a sense of community and connectedness in our towns, cities, counties and districts.

So far we’ve learned about a wide variety of project types that comes under a creative placemaking banner – everything from community engagement around large stormwater infrastructure projects, to ways in which parks departments are harnessing arts strategies to address the needs of local pools.

Now, join us for an interactive discussion about how creative placemaking projects come together for local government and their partners.  We’ll talk about the  types of creative projects that your organization can realistically pursue, especially in the midst of COVID-19 response and recovery, and with an increased focus on racial justice.

Everyone is invited to join this discussion about how we can get creative in local government operations.
