The International Association of Public Participation’s California Chapters (IAP2), the Davenport Institute of Public Engagement and Civic Leadership from Pepperdine University, the Institute for Local Government (ILG), Engaging Local Government Leaders (ELGL), and Cal-ICMA are co-hosting an open dialogue for anyone leading, managing, or facilitating public participation process and input in this transition from a pandemic to post COVID-19 reality.

This is a special meeting about the emerging hybrid of online and in-person public participation using new digital tools and trusted and tested long-standing methods. This hybrid of digital and in-person engagement didn’t functionally exist prior to COVID19. However, in the last year and half engagement pivoted to predominantly online.

Now, both options are possible and we need to share what the early lessons learned are, how to plan which methods are best for the project and stakeholders, and resources to help all public participation managers succeed in this new era of a hybridized approach with more engagement options.

Log on and join us for a free open dialogue across our great state. We will have 3 guest speakers and break-out sessions to conduct deeper dives into topics such as: tools, public participation planning steps, and other resources.
