Wilsonville is one of the fastest growing communities in Oregon. Once a small farming community, Wilsonville now has a population of 22,000 and is home to numerous high-tech companies including Xerox, Mentor Graphics, Flir, and Rockwell Collins. The community takes pride in the high quality of life resulting from thoughtful land use planning, excellent city services, a top-notch school district, and numerous recreational amenities enjoyed by all who live, work and play in Wilsonville.
The City of Wilsonville is a council-manager form of government, the Mayor and a four-person City Council are elected to four-year terms. Wilsonville is a full-service city providing water, sewer, parks, recreation, library, SMART transit, public works, and community development. Police services are provided by contract with Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office. Fire service is provided by Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, a special district.
The City has a total of 154 FTEs and an appropriated budget of $115 million. The Finance Department includes accounting, payroll, information services, and municipal court. The department has 14 employees and an operating budget of $1.5 million.

Reporting to the City Manager, the Finance Director manages the financial and accounting functions of the City as well as the City’s information services functions. The Finance Director has five direct reports including the Assistant Finance Director, Financial Operations Manager, Senior Accountant, Information Systems Manager, and an Administrative Assistant. The Director serves as a member of the executive management team and is actively involved in broader citywide initiatives. Salary: $92,207-$124,480
The ideal candidate has a strong background in municipal finance. A collaborative leader, the ideal candidate continually seeks to understand broader City services while providing strategic financial direction. The preferred candidate is forward thinking with the ability to be creative. The Finance Director routinely translates complex financial data into clear and concise information that is easily understood by Council, City leadership, and staff as well as the broader community. The ideal candidate is dynamic, collaborative, leads by example, and someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment.
