When I think of Kansas City, I think about… BBQ, Baseball, Jazz and really friendly people!

The biggest issue facing local government is…So many to choose from! Public distrust of government and pension reform, understaffed Public Safety, minimum vs. living wage.

My pro tip for getting the most out of professional conferences… You can’t do it all! Take some time to read over the descriptions and tentative prioritize the sessions you want to do. Take advantage of the planning tools available on the website or the smart phone app. Create a daily schedule that is sensible, leave some planned downtime. Most importantly, get involved – ask questions, meet people, meet vendors, go to the keynotes and get some inspiration! Most of all have fun!

If I had to create a presidential ticket with my top two mentors, I’d select…Pam Antil and Kent Nakata (my Dad)
