Main Street Manager, City of Brenham

If you had to live in a different city, what city would you choose?

Whatever City I end up becoming a City Manager for is where I want to plant my family’s roots. I want to be a part of a community not just work for one. (P.S. the city MUST have a historic downtown)

Storytelling or Innovation? Which is the most overused word in local government?

Innovation. Storytelling is a newer buzzword for local government; furthermore, it’s humanizing the profession – which is awesome!

Which year was the most important year in your life? Why?

I am looking forward to my 30’s. I’ll be 28 this year and I can feel my career momentum. I feel the next 2-5 years will be filled with an overhaul of learning and discovery in the best possible way.
However, if I had to pick a specific year, it would have to be two.
2015- the year I married my biggest supporter and 2017- the year we became a family of 3.

(Complete this sentence) The one thing that I think is missing from local government is…

I’m very early in my local government career. I don’t feel I’ve had the experience to answer this question. I’m still sporting rose-colored glasses and think everything is awesome!
