Janet is a leader among department directors in Gaston County. She goes out of her way to improve services for residents, builds lasting relationships with colleagues across the entire organization, and embodies public service leadership every day. She is not only a standout government leader in the county—she also is involved on the executive board of the North Carolina Local Government Budget Association, and has shared her knowledge with colleagues by presenting at conferences. She also volunteers her time to speak with students at UNC Charlotte and UNC Pembroke, helping to develop the next generation of civil servants.
