Assistant Chief of Police: Victoria, Texas

Victoria tx downtownThe City of Victoria, Texas, is seeking a new Assistant Chief of Police. The City has a diverse population of 62,500 and is located in the heart of the Golden Crescent of South Texas, equidistant from Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and Corpus Christi.

The Victoria Police Department includes 158 members, 118 of which are commissioned police officers. The Department offers a full range of municipal police services including patrol, criminal investigations, special investigations, crime reduction unit, crime prevention, special weapons and tactics team, and telecommunications. The Victoria PD has an annual budget of $13.2 million.

Bachelor’s Degree with ten years of law enforcement experience, with the immediate past five years of experience in senior command position, required. Advanced TCOLE Certification and Texas Peace Officer’s License, or ability to obtain certification within six months of employment, required. Completion of advanced command training preferred.

Director of IT: Amarillo, Texas

Amarillo, Texas, is seeking a new Information Technology Director. The City of Amarillo, with a population of more than 194,000, is located in the Texas Panhandle. Amarillo has 2,085 full-time employees and 346 part-time employees.

amarilloAmarillo’s Information Technology Division, comprised of 37 full-time and 3 part-time employees, is responsible for providing computer, telephone, and printing services to all City departments. The FY2013-2014 annual budget for the Division is over $5.8 million. The IT Division includes eight groups: Print Services, Telecommunications, Helpdesk Services, GIS Services, Infrastructure Services, Public Safety Services, Enterprise Application Services, and Technology Support Services. The IT Director develops and administers the Division’s annual budget, including capital and fixed costs expenditures, and reports directly to the Assistant City Manager for Financial and Leisure Services.

Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field preferred. Five or more years of stable and progressively responsible experience in information technology management required. Must possess, or be eligible to obtain within 30 days of employment, a valid Class C Texas Driver’s License.

Assistant Director of Public Works: Denison, Texas

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERADenison, Texas, is seeking a new Assistant Director of Public Works. The City of Denison has an estimated population of 23,000 and is located an hour north of Dallas and 4 miles south of the Texas-Oklahoma border.

Denison is a home-rule city with a Council-Manager form of government. The City has 281 employees and an annual budget of $30.8 million. The Denison Public Works Department is comprised of 86 employees and has an annual FY 2013-2014 budget of over $14.7 million, including both the general fun and water/sewer fund. The department provides services including maintenance of streets, parks, and drainage, water and wastewater treatment, water distribution, and wastewater and solid waste collection. The Assistant Public Works Director is a new position and will be a key part of the City’s management staff.

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, public administration, or a related field, and 2-5 years of professional experience required. Any combination of equivalent education and/or experience will be considered. Valid driver’s license and driving record sufficient for coverage by the City’s liability carrier required.

Public Works Director/City Engineer: Friendswood, Texas

Friendswood, Texas, is seeking a new Public Works Director/City Engineer. The City of Friendswood has a population of more than 38,000 and is located between Houston and Galveston, with direct water access to the Gulf of Mexico through Clear Lake and Galveston Bay.

The Friendswood Public Works Department is comprised of 44 full-time employees and has an annual 2013-2014 budget of $7.6 million. The department is responsible for streets, sidewalks, drainage operations, water and wastewater operations, and engineering projects. The new Director of Public Works/City Engineer will report to the Assistant City Manager. Positions reporting directly to the Director include the deputy director, project managers, engineering technician, and administrative assistant.

Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of professional, managerial experience in Civil Engineering, including 2 years of municipal experience, or 10 years of experience in the planning and design of major public works construction projects, are required. Must be currently licensed as a professional engineer in the State of Texas, or have the ability to obtain a license within one year of employment.

Economic Development Director: Grapevine, Texas

Director of Public Services: Richardson, Texas

Fire Chief: Flower Mound, Texas
