APWA’s annual National Public Works Expo (PWX) is in Seattle September 8-11th and ELGL members are invited to take part in the opportunities available by volunteering at PWX.
PWX provides a first-class multimodal learning experience designed for professionals at all levels and across the entire spectrum of public works. PWX provides an opportunity to see, hear, touch, and discuss everything public works in a variety of traditional and interactive sessions, seminars, workshops, and networking opportunities.
PWX expects nearly 6,000 attendees and almost 400 exhibiting companies this year, so hundreds of volunteers will be needed to make this conference a success. Some areas that need volunteer support include: Exhibit Hall, Education Sessions, Social Events & Tours, Awards Ceremony, and many others
A minimum of four hours of volunteering will get a complimentary half-day admission to PWX.
For your half-day admission, if you are interested in the Exhibit Hall, it is open Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The hours and a link to the exhibit floor map are online here.
If you are interested in the educational sessions, they take place Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and the first half of Wednesday, and a link to the session descriptions is online here.
If you are interested in the Equipment Road-eo, it is Monday 8:00am – noon and a link is online here.
The other tabs across the top of event pages provide more information on keynote speakers, the general schedule, etc.
But MOST IMPORTANTLY – the link to register as a volunteer is here.
Volunteers are needed from Friday, September 6 through Wednesday, September 11. Please note –
- Your complimentary half-day admission can be on a different day than your volunteer shift
- You do not need to be an APWA member to volunteer (only requirement is minimum 18 years old)
- Each individual volunteer must sign up separately.
