NORTH PLAINS — The North Plains City Council was expected to approve an employment contract for a new city manager at Monday night’s City Council meeting (after Argus press time).
Martha DeBry will be North Plains new city manager, just the second city manager in the city’s history, beginning July 1.
DeBry has worked as assistant city manager and most recently as Public Works Director for the Town of Hillsborough in California, located about 17 miles south of San Francisco.
Current North Plains City Manager Don Otterman, 64, will retire effective June 30. Otterman has worked for the city since 1999 and has been instrumental in developing the city’s first water and parks master plans, as well as helping the city build its first library.
According to her employment contact, DeBry’s salary will be $74,556 per year.
The city also hired a new police chief this year. Chief William Snyder started at the city in January.
