It’s time for everyone’s favorite local government bracket competition: the #ELGLKnope award!
The prestigious #ELGLKnope award celebrates the best places in local government. To date, we’ve recognized the best city halls (2017), the best libraries (2018), and the best parks (2019).
This year, we’re focused on all things water!
We’re looking for your nominations for the best water, stormwater, and wastewater facilities. You can nominate any facility that a local government operates – anything from a water tower, to a processing facility, to a reservoir, to a pump station – and everything in between!
During the month of March, we’ll create an #ELGLKnope bracket where you can vote each week for your favorite facilities, and learn more about the important work that local government water, stormwater, and wastewater employees do to serve their communities. And, we’ll showcase some of the important and emerging water issues.
Most importantly, the #ELGLKnope award is all about community pride and raising the visibility of the critical local government services in your community.
Showcasing the work of your water, stormwater, and wastewater facilities and employees is a great way to tell the important story about how water impacts every corner of our communities. Past #ELGLKnope finalists and winners used the nomination and bracket challenges to engage the community and tell their own stories about local government services.
You may submit as many nominations as you’d like, and we’ll share a periodic list of the nominees during February. Nominations are due by midnight on Sunday, February 28.
