The 2014 tour schedule for ELGL was a busy one. ELGL leaders were invited to present at a number of professional conferences including Strategic Government Resources (Dallas, TX ), Center for Priority Based Budgeting (Denver, CO), Illinois Association of Municipal Management Assistants (Naperville, IL) and Oregon Recreation and Parks Association (Seaside, OR).
Each event was a great opportunity to expand our network and borrow good ideas. For example, the idea for a music video at #ELGL14 was hatched when we saw the work of Jordan Bunch at the SGR Conference; at the CPBB Conference, we took away ideas for increasing involvement between participants and sponsors. We also met the masterful Jim Teece at CPBB who brought his energy and photoshop skills to #ELGL14.

What’s Ahead in 2015?
- Bridget Doyle, John McCarter, and Ryan Adams will present at the SGR Conference in January.
- We’ll expand the number of ELGL members who present on our behalf at professional conferences.
- We’ll continue to present at events that meet our mission to “Connect. Communicate. Educate.”
- We’ll focus on conferences that encourage involvement between all members, not just generational groupings.
