Danielle Lewis
RMC – Deputy Municipal Clerk at Township of Denville, NJ
So far, what’s your proudest accomplishment in 2019?
Securing at-home daycare for my daughter so my fiance and I can both work full-time and have a happy work-life balance.
Valentines Day is in February. What do you “love” about your job?
I love LEARNING. As soon as you think you know most of what you need to know about your profession, a curve ball is thrown at you. It keeps things interesting.
(Complete the sentence) Before I die I want to…
visit the cities and countries of my ancestors. I love history, culture, and records (very Registered Municipal Clerk of me, I suppose).
10 Year Challenge! What were you doing in 2009? How did it help you reach your current position?
In 2009 I finished my first year of college and began my second. I suffered from an unexpected medical issue that changed the entire trajectory of my college career…I began my college career in Florida and came back home to get well. It taught me how to handle unprecedented situations and that a change in your plan is OK – after graduating college I planned on attending law school, but here I am in local government instead 🙂
(Complete the sentence) The first time I heard about ELGL was…
just browsing the internet!
What question should we have asked? What’s the answer?
Question: If you weren’t in local government, what would you be doing ? Answer: I would start up either a small, local or online business. I might tackle that on top of local government one day!
