Prepare for #ELGL14 by learning about who is attending. Find out if you’ll be surrounded by soft talkers, loud eaters, and finger biters or whether you’ll be surrounded by the best in local government.
Gwen Voelpel
SeaTac, WA – Assistant City Manager
#ELGL14 is…
…..a great chance to learn what it takes to interest and support promising professionals in local government careers at all levels.
Registration for #ELGL14 cost $60. If you could use that $60 to buy something else, what would you buy?
New hiking boots. I melted mine a bit trying to dry them out next to a campfire last year and the new ones I bought just aren’t cutting it. Or maybe a new PFD as mine for kayaking is old school.
If #ELGL14 spun off into a music festival, what bands (dead or alive) would you like to see?
AC/DC and Led Zeppelin, for sure. Throw in some Coldplay, Stevie Ray Vaughn and Tower of Power and I’d be happy.
During your time in Portland for #ELGL14, how do you plan on “Keeping Portland Weird?”
If I have to walk around town in business clothes, I’m going to put on my sneakers no matter what I’m wearing. That gives me that classic nerdy office worker look.
I feel old when…
……I realize that my daughters are now into fashion that I wore when I was in high school or college. Let’s hope I’m still around for leg warmers and colored tights to come back in ONE MORE TIME.
