Prepare for #ELGL14 by learning about who is attending. Find out if you’ll be surrounded by soft talkers, loud eaters, and finger biters or whether you’ll be surrounded by the best in local government.
Patrick Rollens
Village of Oak Park, IL — Social Media Coordinator
(Complete the sentence) #ELGL14 is….. an affirmation that I am really part of an entirely new career field, one that I would never have guessed I would be a part of back when I got my journalism degree in 2004.
Registration for #ELGL14 cost $60. If you could use that $60 to buy something else, what would you buy?
Let’s assume it’s discretionary spending. So… as a diehard tabletop gamer, I’d probably pick up these miniature figures, which I’ve been coveting ever since they were released a few years ago. And now you’ve learned something about me that you can never un-learn.
If #ELGL14 spun off into a music festival, what bands (dead or alive) would you like to see?
John Williams conducting the London Symphony Orchestra, obviously, plus Christopher Lee performing his spoken word heavy metal album Charlemagne: By the Sword and the Cross.
During your time in Portland for #ELGL14, how do you plan on “Keeping Portland Weird?”
I’ll keep Portland weird by having a low-key tourist weekend, casually scoping out the ‘hood to see if my sun-loving wife can handle living in the Pacific Northwest one day. You guys would be wise to order up some sunny days in October, just sayin’…
(Complete the sentence) I feel old when……
I hear NFL players who are 31 and 32 years old referred to as “old” and “not having much in the tank anymore.” My tank is half-full, dammit!
