Diversity Dashboard Grassroots: California

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]For the Diversity Dashboard project, ELGL is relying on our partners at state municipal associations to share their directory data with our Research Coordinators so we can reach out to local governments for completion of the self-reported survey on the CAO and ACAO gender, race, age, veteran status, and residency.
In many instances, we’re zooming ahead with the data collection thanks to organizations that have shared their directories with us or have sent out the survey on behalf of ELGL.
In other instances, we’re relying on our grassroots network to get the surveys distributed and completed. That’s where the power of the ELGL network comes into play! Here’s how you can help:

  1. If you’re the CAO, ACAO (or their designee), take the survey (link below)!
  2. Send the survey link to your CAO, ACAO, or their designee!
  3. Cut, paste, and send the sample email (below) to your California network asking for their paricipation.
  4. After you’ve done 1, 2 or 3 – Tweet, Facebook, and IG share your enthusiasm for this research and tag @CalELGL!

Dear Colleagues:
ELGL (Engaging Local Government Leaders) is conducting research on the gender, race, age, veteran status, and residency of all local government chief administrative officers (CAOs) and assistant chief administrative officers (ACAOs) in the nation. This is called the Diversity Dashboard project.
This is the first-ever collection of this data – other organizations have collected information on their memberships, but the Diversity Dashboard is looking at leadership diversity regardless of form of government (e.g. strong mayor or city manager) or professional association membership. You can learn more about the data collection here.
ELGL is relying on its grassroots network in California to distribute the survey and ensure that every local government in the state has the chance to self-report its data for this important effort.
