#ELGL13: There’s An App for That

Posted on September 26, 2013

We can’t wait to see you at #ELGL13 next week. It’s going to be a great conference, and we’re glad you’ll be in attendance. You’ll notice a lot of things about #ELGL13 that will be different than your “normal” government conference.  For starters, #ELGL13 is a paperless conference.

No paper? How will I know what’s going on?
We’ve created a conference application for your use on a mobile device (smart phone or tablet) or a laptop. Using this app, you can review the conference schedule, read updates from the event, and upload your pictures from the day.

I love apps! How do I access it?!
Click here to access the ELGL Conference App. From this page, you can either send yourself a text or an email with the download tools.

I’ve downloaded the app – what’s next?!
Next week, you’ll receive an email with your conference registration information, including your assigned table. That email will include everything you need to know before you arrive at the Kennedy School on October 4, 2013 at 7:30 a.m.  Until then, spend some time reviewing the conference agenda, and getting excited about the cool speakers and interesting topics we have lined up.  You can also search for #ELGL13 on Twitter to keep up with conference chatter.

Why is it a paperless conference?! That’s very Portlandia.
Since we began planning #ELGL13, we knew we didn’t want to inundate attendees with reams of paper, either before or at the conference.  That’s why we’ve relied on email, social media, and ELGL.org to communicate with you about the conference so far.  So when you arrive at the conference, you won’t be handed a packet of materials.

The conference committee’s goal for #ELGL13 is to create a conference experience that will allow you to learn a lot; meet some new local government peers; and have a great time.  We look forward to sharing this experience with you!
