Social Events

We’re pleased to announce the line up of social events that we’ll offer in conjunction with #ELGL14, our annual conference in Portland, Oregon.  These events are optional add-ons to your conference experience, designed to give you more opportunities to experience Oregon, meet new ELGL friends, and have a great time.  These experiences will require separate registration from #ELGL14 registration. Here are the deets:

October 16, 2014 @ 4:00 p.m.

UGBs and IPAs

Oregon Land Use Pub Crawl

  • We’re combining our two favorite things: microbreweries and land use planning.  Join us as we visit some of Portland’s most delicious breweries, and learn about some of the unique aspects of land use planning in Oregon. There will be a modest cost to cover our group’s reservations and transportation.  Not a beer drinker? Come along anyway to learn more about Oregon’s different approaches to development, urban renewal, and more.

October 17, 2014 @ 5:00 p.m.

Come On Get Happy!

Conference Happy Hour

  • This social time is complimentary, hosted by our wonderful conference sponsors.  Featuring Kennedy School food and drinks, we’ll also enjoy the music from Mark Hanson.  We’ll have fun ways for you to make connections with fellow ELGL members, and rub elbows with the amazing line-up of speakers we have planned.

October 17, 2014 @ 7:00 p.m.

I’m Yelling Timbers!

Portland Timbers v. Real Salt Lake

  • Join us as we visit Jeld Wen Stadium for the Timbers last game of their regular season.  We have a block of seats reserved and you’re invited to join the Timbers Army.  The additional cost for this social event will cover your ticket and your transportation to and from the stadium.  Limited seats are available, so you’ll need to act fast when we open the registration links.

October 18, 2014 @ 10:00 a.m.

Quack Attack

Oregon Ducks v. Washington Huskies

  • We’ll leave bright and early on Saturday morning for a day trip to Eugene to watch the University of Oregon Ducks take on the University of Washington Huskies (aka “Duck the Fuskies”).  Your ticket for this event will cover your ticket and transportation.  We’ll coordinate a tailgate effort when we arrive.  Join us for a tailgate, football game, and camaraderie.  Limited seats are available, so you’ll need to act fast when we open the registration links.

Registration for the conference and these events will open September 5, so get your mouse and keyboard skills ready.  We only accept online registration and payment.
