Downtown Durham at night

A HUGE part of ELGL conference experiences is learning about and celebrating the communities we are conferencing in.

This year, we have four options to tour Durham, NC. Sign up for these opportunities when you register.

These tours are included in your ticket price. All tours leave from the conference/Convention Center after the final keynote on Friday, May 17.

You must pre-register for tours to save your spot.

Walking Tour of Duke Gardens

Join us for a walking tour of Duke Gardens. Led by a knowledgeable docent we will visit all four areas of the Gardens in groups of 15 or fewer. As we go through the Gardens you will work in teams to complete a scavenger hunt – looking for particular colors, shapes, the best scent and other elements. Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. The tour generally takes between an hour and an hour and a half.

Tour of Durham Bulls Athletic Park

The Durham Bulls are one of the most popular and successful minor league baseball teams in the United States. Join Durham Bulls staff for an all-access tour of the Durham Bulls Athletic Park which is a joint-partnership between the Durham Bulls and the City of Durham.

Tour of Duke Basketball Facilities

Duke Basketball is one of the most storied collegiate basketball programs in the United States with five national championships. A knowledgeable tour guide will walk you through storied Cameron Arena and the Duke Basketball museum.

Walking tour of Downtown Durham

Join Brian Smith from the City of Durham’s Office of Workforce and Economic Development for a walking tour through Downtown Durham. Learn about the history of Downtown Durham, including Black Wall Street, and the revitalization of Downtown in the past decade.
