Greetings from MilwaukIE, Oregon! The #ELGLTakeoverTuesday for Jan. 29 is brought to you by Jordan Imlah, the City of Milwaukie’s public affairs specialist.
Located just outside the southeast portion of Portland, Milwaukie is a unique city of just more than 21,000 people nestled along the banks of the Willamette River. We’re home to some well-known businesses that also reflect the community’s personality, such as Dark Horse Comics, Bob’s Red Mill and Breakside Brewing.
What Milwaukie lacks in size, it more than makes up for in community engagement! The city is proud of its very active and enthusiastic community members, who frequently participate in city-led programs and projects, and volunteer for boards, committees, commissions, events, etc.

Jordan Imlah is the public affair specialist for the City of Milwaukie where he manages print and digital communication, community engagement, branding and graphic design. He also serves as a staff liaison to the Milwaukie Arts Committee. Jordan has a master’s degree in strategic communication from the University of Oregon and worked in local government for most of his career. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his young sons and keeping their damage to private and public property to a minimum, reading post-apocalyptic-themed books, cooking and making cat art.
