The Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill’s $550 billion of new spending and the American Rescue Plan’s $350 billion in Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds both offer huge opportunities for states and local governments to invest in protecting residents’ sensitive data, to modernize aging government IT infrastructure, and to support hybrid and remote work environments. Cybersecurity is an eligible expense under the Fiscal Recovery Funds, while the Infrastructure Bill specifically includes a new grant program to fund government cybersecurity initiatives.
