As part of my final capstone project for my Executive Master of Public Administration program at PSU, I am conducting a survey to identify the types of financial and accounting information that our elected officials and executive managers should understand in order to inform the decisions they must make. The membership of ELGL represents a diverse group of jurisdictions and other organizations, with members at many different levels of these organizations, so I think you are an ideal group to provide insight on these questions!
The survey consists of four basic questions, asked about six different groups of topics: Accounting, Budgeting, Reporting, Internal Controls, Auditing, and Other Related Topics.
