Host an #ELGLPopUp Event

2021 popups

We’re looking for host locations for the #ELGLPopUps conferences on May 21, 2021!

#ELGLPopUps are ELGL’s approach to regional conferences. We know that national travel isn’t possible for everyone, so this is a chance to connect with other local government leaders regionally. We also know there’s a chance that in-person conferencing may not be possible by May 2021, and so the option for an all virtual event is also in play.

What are we looking for from hosts?

Like all ELGL events, we want to see a diversity of topics on conference agendas, but #ELGLPopUps have the added value of addressing and including regional topics. (For example, a host in the West may want to add wildfire response and recovery to the agenda.)

What’s the time commitment and workload for hosts?

If your location is selected, you’ll join a team of organizers. ELGL will assist with logistical support and planning help. You will serve as the local organizer, working in the agenda and special touches to make the conference memorable. There is no financial obligation to host, but we do ask that you only sign up if you’re ready to join this team planning effort as a fully engaged team member.

Who should apply to host?

This is your chance to plan the local government conference you’ve always dreamed of attending If you have big ideas, want to have a new experience to add to your resume, or just want to get more involved with ELGL, this is a great opportunity for you.

Host applications are due by December 15, 2020 with locations announced by January 1, 2021.
