American City & County Magazine Highlights Knope of the Week

What is the Knope of the Week? It’s ELGL’s way of recognizing an individual or group of individuals who have excelled in promoting the public sector. Recipients may come from the public or private sector and are nominated by ELGL members. Recipients receive an incredible amount of recognition and prizes that we are not at liberty to disclose. The storied history of the award dates back to 2012.

And the winner of the Knope of the Week is……

Nick Lawson

Knope-Worthy Accomplishments

Ron Swanson ELGLA picture says a thousand words, and this holds true for the ones created for #ELGL13. The person responsible for the cool imaginary is Nick Lawson and he is our Knope of the Week.

With little creative direction from us (which was probably helpful), Nick was able to capture the energy and themes of #ELGL13 in the conference poster and accompanying table graphics. (Our other option was to contract with elementary school students to produce some “abstract art.”) We are hoping Nick becomes a famous designer, so his original “#ELGL13 collection” will become our trust fund.

For now, ELGL thanks Nick for his commitment to our project despite his other activities which include pursing an MBA at Willamette. And Nick, if the business career and artistic pursuits don’t succeed, we’d be happy to have you in local government.
