There are four openings left for the June 13th luncheon with former State Economist and current Chair of the Portland State Economics Department, Dr. Thomas Potiowsky. The discussion will be on the US recovery and the new economic environment. This information will be highly relevant to long-term local government revenues and anyone interested in budgeting or economics.

About Dr. Potiowsky:

Tom served as the State Economist from 1999 to 2006, except for one 15-month period. As the State Economist, he was responsible for preparing quarterly revenue forecasts which became the basis for the State of Oregon’s budget. Tom also managed the Office of Economic Analysis within the Department of Administrative Services.

Beginning last July, Dr. Potiowsky returned to his faculty position at Portland State University. He is currently the Chair of the PSU Dept. of Economics and Director of the Northwest Institute of Applied Economic Research.
