ELGL and the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) created the PAFR Fellowship Program to connect graduate students with local governments looking to create a Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for submission to the GFOA award program. The fellows have all been finalized and ELGL and GFOA are excited to announce everyone over the next few weeks.

This is our second spotlight for our five fellows. Feel free to reach out and give them a warm welcome! We are excited to see the work they do over the next few months.

Most Creative Thing I’ve Done Recently: Finding ways to build and maintain social relationships during the time of Covid-19 has been my most creative endeavor in the last 30 days. The invention of new styles of interaction is what will help us all stay healthy and connected with our families, friends, and coworkers during this strange time, and I am proud to keep creating.

Most Creative Thing I’ve Done Recently: I have been spending a lot of time experimenting with different foods to cook with. I made eggs Benedict which was probably the most unique and creative dish that I had made. It was a good experience for me to learn and to apply something in real life.

Most Creative Thing I’ve Done Recently: Staying at home to slow the spread of COVID-19 has required that each of us expand our typical set of activities and hobbies. I have definitely tried to maximize my time at home by nurturing my creative side. I have recently taught myself how to embroider, and I successfully embroidered a small piece of art that depicts hanging house plants. I have also recently started a project using Adobe Illustrator to design a piece of modern art that depicts some of the beautiful features of my state’s Big Bend National Park. When it is finished, I plan to print it and hang it as wall art.
