If you had to live in a different city, what city would you choose?
Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. Perfect size. Lots of outdoor recreation in close proximity. And Australia has good public services.
Storytelling or innovation? Which is the most overused word in local government?
Innovation! It’s what I have been doing for 12 years (including previously holding the title Innovation Officer) It’s such a crucial activity and the overuse of the word is diminishing its real impact. Please see attached image for a laugh.
What year would the most important in your life? Why?
Probably this year because of extreme professional growth along with a seven month sabbatical. Lot’s of reflection and expatiation.

Innovation :)~ Really, it is. I believe there is a need to change the fundamentals of the local government operating system, not just improving processes.
What’s your area of expertise? This is not necessarily just your department, but something about local government work that you love learning about, implementing, and talking through with others:
Facilitation and empowerment. I love being involved with, or learning about, other’s work around facilitating capacity building to engage the collective social muscles of a community.
