What’s an interesting project or issue you’re currently working on?

I’m currently working on developing and interpreting the city social media data analytics so we can develop benchmarks and track the efficacy of our messaging and engagement with citizens in the city.

If you could have coffee or a beer with any famous person, who would it be and why?

Albert Camus. I have a longstanding interest in philosophy, particularly late 19th century and early 20th century existentialism. An opportunity to discuss this movement in the context of major world events at the time would be extremely illuminating.

What was the first cassette tape/CD/download that you ever purchased?

Weird Al Yankovic’s Food Album compilation!

What job on your resume or LinkedIn was most formative for you? Why?

My internship with Johnson County was, by far, the most formative experience I have had. It was my first deep-dive in to local government. I learned a great deal about managing local government programs and how innovation in government can be fostered through the development of a highly effective culture.

(Complete this sentence) The one thing that I think is missing from local government is….

Strong citizen engagement programs nationwide. Programs that foster not just local government transparency but encourage involvement.
