So far, what’s your proudest accomplishment in 2019?

Completing a Federal Grant for Chronic Disease Management.

Valentines Day is in February. What do you “love” about your job?

I love working with people and finding innovative solutions to challenges. I strive to think “outside the box” to make the experiences with government better.

(Complete the sentence) Before I die I want to…

make a difference in the world. I want to get immensely involved with causes that impact people’s lives. Autism is an area of interest and I am currently exploring opportunities to get involved at the State and Federal Level.

10 Year Challenge! What were you doing in 2009? How did it help you reach your current position?

I was Interim City Manager at the City of Coral Gables. I worked for the City of Coral Gables for 31 years and another 5 years at the Village of Pinecrest. It enhanced my ability to run a government organization and learn to manage the political challenges.

(Complete the sentence) The first time I heard about ELGL was…

during a Florida City and County Management Association conference call related to Managers-in-Transition.

What question should we have asked? What’s the answer?

“Why have you chosen a career in Government?”
A passion for service, and trying to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
