Melanie Mazanec
So far, what’s your proudest accomplishment in 2019?
Conducting usability testing on two public-facing projects simultaneously. It’s tiring but worth it to hear feedback that helps me build better tools for our community.
Valentines Day is in February. What do you “love” about your job?
I love working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams!
(Complete the sentence) Before I die I want to…
…travel a lot more.
10 Year Challenge! What were you doing in 2009? How did it help you reach your current position?
In 2009 I was earning a degree in classical trumpet performance. Teaching trumpet lessons and seeing how kids’ life circumstances changed their educational outcomes was a slippery slope into public service.
(Complete the sentence) The first time I heard about ELGL was…
Probably from Hannah Lebovits, who is an enthusiastic ELGL member and was in my MPA cohort.
What question should we have asked? What’s the answer?
Why did you join ELGL? Because I think too many of us are reinventing the wheel. Connecting and sharing experiences and solutions will help us all make the most of the resources we have.
