Rock Chalk, Jayhawk…ELGL & KU Present KU Corner

Posted on December 18, 2015

We are pleased to partner with the University of Kansas School of Public Affairs and Administration program on an exciting writing opportunity that will give KU students a chance to expand their popular public administration writing to ELGL’s broad local government audience. We’re calling it “KU Corner.”

LinkedIn offers a space for you to highlight your writing. (Here’s a link to KU MPA alumnus Clay Pearson’s LinkedIn profile – he’s optimized this space perfectly). ELGL and KU’s partnership gives students the opportunity to share their perspectives and writing styles with prospective employers via LinkedIn. Plus, by adding a column to the ELGL blog, students are optimizing their online presence when prospective employers search for them.

Here’s how the program works:

  1. KU students will select a week to write for ELGL.org. Click here to sign-up.
  2. MPA alumnus Matt Monedero will brainstorm topics or provide perspectives on student writing.
  3. Students will mail their completed column to Matt by the due date.
  4. ELGL will then post the column, cross-promote it on public service and local government networks, and help you share the perspectives in the larger public administration community.

Is your MPA program interested in a similar partnership? Have them contact Kirsten to set up a chance to partner with ELGL.
