I am ready to head out of the country next. Today is….2 days before my BIRTHDAY! Tell us about two accomplishments that you are most proud of.

(Complete this sentence) I feel old when I……. http://youtu.be/6m47EQtAMzI   Sing all of the songs from “The best KC and the Sunshine Band” album because my dad use to listen to them (really almost all the music he listened to I listen to people forget how old I am when I sing older music from 60’s 70’s and 80’s)

imagesTell us about two mistakes that you’ve made that we can learn from.

  • Signing a car lease so that someone else can have a car to drive;
  • Not understanding the burden of student loans. See the first mistake.

Give us three of your favorite YouTube videos.

  • Ultimate and only favorite- Derek Redmond Never Give up
  • I watch a lot of natural hair tutorials because I am transitioning to natural hair

Our annual conference will be held in October 2014. Name three topics or speakers that should be included on the conference agenda.

How did you find your niche in public service/public administration?

Parent(s) can be influential in career choices of their kids. What was the career path of your parent(s)?

In my case my parents paved the way for an optimistic child, my mother is a patient representative at a hospital, she has a Bachelors in Accounting; father is self-employed has his own lawn care business. Name three of your mentors and describe them in five words.mlk_2mcf_t728

  • Rev. Hezekiah D. Stewart– passionate, loving, supportive, powerful, courageous.
  • Bea Sanders- realist, tough, educated, loving, commander.
  • Drake- emotional, young, ambassador, caring, successful.

images (1)Your hometown…..what is it best known for? Banging in the Rock! LOL! Those days are pretty much over. Let’s try something like Central High School Little Rock Nine and President Clinton (although he is from Hope, AR) his presidential library is in Little Rock. How can ELGL best contribute to the public sector? I am honestly not sure yet, my undergraduate is in Social Work and I am starting school this summer for MPA, but I am willing find out what will contribute to public sector! Give us two items that are broken in local government. Welfare system and our class system.

Fast forward one year, what will factor into your decision on whether to renew your ELGL membership?

My involvement from this year- I want to get my hands dirty while it’s free so when it’s time to pay I won’t feel like it’s a waste.

Give us two ideas for attracting and retaining talented individuals to the public sector.download

Well, I think the public sector would need to find people who enjoy “helping/assisting” others, because if you do not enjoy giving back I doubt you would enjoy working in a public sector. So I say “listen to action”….meaning watch different behaviors and see how that applies to public sector. Then you say “Have you ever thought about working in the public sector”? What questions should we have asked? Are you a “short winded” or “long winded person” if long winded don’t continue this survey?! LOL I am a long winded person 😉 sorry it’s so lengthy. What question(s) do you have about ELGL? Nothing right now, I am excited and eager to learn more about ELGL!
