Melissa is a devoted local gov public servant who is always on the list of people who can come up with solutions. In the past year, she’s been tasked with overseeing the success of elections through COVID, managing multiple public engagement sessions with sensitive topics, helping guide our tourism rebounding efforts, supporting crisis communications throughout police incidents and severe weather, and supervising multiple teams through all of this change. Melissa has done all of this with grace, and it’s led us to successful community relations, updates to city policies, and employee engagement in a challenging time.
Melissa balances so much – work, family, and is a great friend too. I’m always in awe of what she accomplishes and her willingness to help out anyone. She is a role model to so many people and this recognition would be wonderful for her.
