The City of Waxahachie, Texas, is seeking a new Chief of Police. Waxahachie is the county seat of Ellis County and has a population of more than 31,000 residents. The City has 313 employees and an annual FY 2013-2014 operating budget of $25,645,280. The Waxahachie Police Department became a “Recognized Law Enforcement Agency” in 2013, and includes 59 commissioned officers, 17 civilian employees, and is comprised of the following divisions: Administration, Communications, Investigations, Operations, and Patrol. The annual operating budget for FY 2013-2014 is $7.1 million.
Education equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible municipal law enforcement experience, including five years of senior level command and administrative responsibility is required. Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) certification, TCOLE Master Police Officer Certification and a valid Texas driver’s license. Experience in management and administration of Chapter 143 Civil Service is highly desired. Successful completion of an advanced Law Enforcement Leadership Development program is a plus. The annual salary range for the position is $101,000 to $111,000.

Building Official: Addison, Texas
Addison, Texas, is seeking a Building Official. The Building Official reports to the Assistant Director of Development Services. The position reviews building plans for compliance with ordinances by interpreting and enforcing the building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and energy codes. This will also involve direct communication with contractors, architects, and the public regarding the permitting process and requirements.

Animal Shelter Manager: Fort Worth, Texas
