It’s time for local government to acknowledge that technology exists and, in fact, it may be able to help us. To do so, ELGL is partnering with the Technology Association of Oregon (TAO) to offer the Oregon Tech Brigade.
In the last couple of months, ELGL has been meeting with Skip Newberry, TAO President and the TAO Developers Committee to create a program that will benefit the public and private sector. Lots of details to follow but for now here’s what you need to know.
Oregon Tech Brigade Presented by ELGL and TAO
In order to improve Oregon’s communities through technology, TAO is partnering with the Oregon chapter of Emerging Local Government Leaders (ELGL) to identify new projects that utilize technology and open data initiatives that develop and deliver new services for residents. ELGL and TAO are developing a series of events to showcase business issues from within the public sector and connect volunteers from local tech companies and area schools to these projects. TAO and the TAO Foundation are also partnering with the United Way of the Columbia-Willamette to help organize these all-volunteer teams of students and tech professionals as they develop technologies for their communities.
