ELGL is taking on a new topic in the coming months. We’re calling it “#WorkLifeBalance.” It’s a series of Twitter conversations – or ‘Twittersations’ – designed to shed light on work life balance in public sector careers.
We believe that ELGL is uniquely positioned to communicate about and add to the discussion about encouraging women in local government professions. And, more broadly, ELGL thinks that our demographic (people who choose to affiliate with ELGL) have some new ways of thinking about work life balance in the context of public careers that will significantly help to attract people to the local government profession.
To do this, Bridget Doyle (Village of Lombard, IL) and Kirsten Wyatt (West Linn, OR) want to try three Twittersations in the coming months to encourage a dialogue about local government work life balance and women in the profession.
The premise is that during a specified time, we’ll ask you questions on Twitter and have a shared discussion using the hashtag “#WorkLifeBalance.” Over time, the conversations we have will turn this hashtag into a running commentary about the local gov issues we care about.
Want to participate? Log on to Twitter at the following times, search for #WorkLifeBalance, and join in the discussion using that same hashtag. Hope you can join our Twittersation!
