ELGL would like to welcome the newest organizational member, Oak Park, Illinois! Oak Park is a town of 51,878 people, to the immediate west of Chicago. The Village was incorporated in 1902 and operates under the Council-Manager form of government. Oak Park has a long history of alcohol prohibition only allowing restaurants to sell the stuff in 1973 and letting people purchase alcohol in grocery stores starting in 2002.
Patrick Rollens, the author of the Broken Social Scene column, is the Social Media Coordinator for Oak Park. You can connect with the Village on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and even Pinterest.
