Happy Hour With Mark Funkhouser, Publisher of Governing
July 2014 was a busy month for ELGL. Two weeks before entertaining Portland Mayor Hales and Indy Mayor Ballard, we teamed with the Portland State University Center for Public Service to host a reception with Mark Funkhouser, Publisher of Governing. We took one look at Mark’s Twitter bio, “Half mayor, half father, all Funk. Mayor of KCMO from 5/07 to 5/11″ and knew Mark was bringing a unique perspective.
Our membership is heavy readers of Governing and admirers of their engaging, balanced approach to topical local government issues. It was clear after meeting Mark that he continues to set a high standard. Here’s a recap of what else we learned.
