#ELGL17: Agenda, Facebook Group, Guest List, Hotels, Partners, Register, Sponsorships and Twitter List
Meet #ELGL17 attendees.
Stacy Peterson
City of Peoria, IL
Before you leave for #ELGL17, what’s the biggest project facing you at work?
In my position, I’m usually working on projects for multiple departments at the same time. It keeps things interesting. Currently—working on launching a volunteer-driven litter program in the city, as well as preparing for upcoming public engagement campaign on budget discussions.
Window, middle, or aisle – which is your preferred seat on an airplane?
Window….every single time. Especially when I can rest my forehead on the glass and attempt to identify landscape markers.
When I think of Detroit, I think about…
Rebirth, Reuse, Renaissance. From companies like Shinola establishing quality products and creating jobs to the urban skiiers in “Tracing Shadows”. It’s all about taking the existing infrastructure and recrafting for the future. www.huffingtonpost.com/?icid=hjx004
What’s the best article or book that you’ve read about Detroit?
Actually, I always associate Detroit with the documentary film, “Standing in the Shadows of Motown” about the Funk Brothers, the backing band for so many iconic hits. For so many, Motown and Detroit are forever intertwined, providing a musical soundtrack for an era, not only a city. Seeing Detroit through the eyes of these musicians provides a unique perspective to their city and the legendary musicians with whom they worked.
Detroit is the home of ‘Motown’. If you started a Motown group, what would you name it?
Stacy P and the Invaders (a little Iggy Pop, a little Mitch Ryder and a whole lot of P-Funk)
Who is the most famous person in your cell phone contacts?
City of Peoria Innovation Team Project Manager Kate Green, of course.
What question(s) should we have asked?
What question(s) should we have asked?
It’s Detroit, so……The White Stripes or The Temptations?
